The Fund is currently building its portfolio through an active acquisition program in its targeted investment strategy.

Blue Tip Energy Partners Fund I, L.P. is a self-contained energy investing and operating team that acquires, develops and sells U.S.-based, onshore, upstream energy assets for a select group of private equity investors.  Whenever possible the Fund manages assets in-house with their own operations and field management personnel. 

Blue Tip Energy’s investment strategy involves acquiring low-risk underperforming producing oil and natural gas assets with meaningful upside potential.  A series of follow-on investments create significant additional value. Each investment’s initial cash flows provide protection against loss of invested capital, and hedging makes the portfolio resistant to short-term drops in energy commodity prices.  Unhedged production and added reserves from development allow for significant upside potential. 

Since 1998, the managing partners of Blue Tip Energy have been working together as a team acquiring, developing, and selling similar assets while achieving a consistent, proven, track record of strong investment return performance in all phases of the commodity price cycle.  Over the course of their careers the managers have directed the investing and operations of $2.3 billion of energy assets and transactions, including $226 million specifically in the Fund’s target strategy.
