Blue Tip’s extensive due diligence and operational expertise provides a thorough understanding of the associated risks pertaining to each investment allowing the Fund to benefit from the “mispricing arbitrage” by optimizing underperforming assets and improving the risk profile of undeveloped reserves.
Because they are a self-contained operating group management does not have to find new operating teams during this extended period of worldwide energy professional shortages to manage, develop or turn around portfolio investments.
Finally, the team’s operating expertise and knowledge of most industry segments, domestic basins and play types, along with their track record of value-creation, provides a level of continuity and depth of experience seldom seen in an emerging private equity fund. This private equity investing experience, coupled with its strong deal flow, allows Blue Tip Energy to develop untapped value in energy assets that others often overlook.
Operating Expertise:
Individually and collectively, the principals have extensive operating experience in most of the producing basins in North America. This experience includes all phases of start-ups, workouts, exploration, development, production and marketing. In addition, the team has considerable experience with traditional E&P activities, Coal Bed Methane, Tight Sands and Shale Gas, as well as drilling in extreme environments such as deep, sour gas wells in the Gulf Coast region.
Blue Tip Energy’s managers ran a staff of 70 energy professions in a Houston based operating company, directing the day to day operations of several energy investments throughout the United States.
In addition, over the last 20 years they have either lead or helped build eight separate successful energy operating companies. Many went on to become independently successful over the years. Two of these groups are now affiliated with well known energy focused private equity funds.
